Welcome to ORJCC
Ocean Ridge Junior Cricket Club was established in 1981 and has been focused on ensuring our young cricketers enjoy the game, develop their cricket skills and learn to play in the spirit of the game. We call ourselves the Sharks and our clubrooms are located in Heathridge but we draw players from between Whitford and Joondalup.
ORJCC offers the opportunity for boys and girls from the local area to play cricket in a family friendly environment. We cater for all age groups, with our Cricket Australia Woolworths Cricket Blast Programme for young cricketers aged between 5-10 years (this is a gender neutral format with all children playing and training as a unit) and our junior club sides from U10’s through to U17’s, after which the players feed into seniors with the Ocean Ridge Cricket Club
With accredited coaches, ORJCC has enjoyed consistent success on the field, winning numerous premiership flags throughout the years in various age groups. With our players consistently winning Northwest Metropolitan Cricket Association awards and a solid representation in both Joondalup Districts, Wanneroo Districts and WA State teams we are able to offer a cricket pathway for any aspiring young cricketer.
Many of our players progress to senior cricket and we have been represented in the 1st class arena by:
Michael Swart (Netherlands and West Australia)
Dean Brownlie (New Zealand and Canterbury)
Marcus North (Australia, West Australia and Perth Scorchers)
Clint Hinchliffe (West Australia

Cricket Rules
Each age group has rules that are relevant to their age and ability with the focus being on developing and nurturing young cricketers and guiding them into senior cricket.
As such there are modified rules to suit age group expectations. These include ball kind, size and weight, the size of cricket oval and cricket pitch and the way in which a player is given ‘out’.
